Apple Raisin Pie

  • 6 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 t ablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 unbaked 9 or 10-inch pastry shell



Combine brown sugar, butter, cornstarch, milk, and vanilla in a saucepan; cook until slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Place apples and raisins in 10-inch baked pastry shell. Pour cooked mixture over the apples and sprinkle pecans over top. Bake for about 1 hour at 350°.
