Easy Classic Lasagna

This is a basic layered lasagna recipe, made with ground beef, ricotta cheese, purchased spaghetti sauce, and seasonings. It's an easy meal to throw together, and it's always a hit. Feel free to change it up with ground turkey instead of ground beef, or omit the mushrooms if you aren't a fan. Related:

Cook Time: 50 minutes
Rest/Proof Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
Yield: 6 servings


Instructions:

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown beef, onion, and mushrooms; drain well. Stir in spaghetti sauce, garlic powder, salt, oregano, and basil.
  4. In the prepared baking dish, layer one-third of the lasagna noodles, one-third of the sauce, and one-third of the ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat the layers twice.
  5. Bake the lasagna in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until thoroughly heated and bubbly around the edges.
  6. Let the lasagna stand for 8 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
