Classic French Toast

French toast is one of my all-time favorite breakfasts. A little honey and spice sets this French toast recipe apart from the everyday versions. Feel free to leave the sweetener out or use agave nectar or maple syrup instead.
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
- Combine beaten egg with milk, honey, nutmeg, and salt, whisk together until smooth and well combined.
- Place sturdy white bread in a single layer in a shallow pan. Pour egg mixture over bread and let stand for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until soft.
- Brown slices on hot greased griddle.
- Serve French Toast Recipe with butter and syrup, if desired.
