Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the turkey and onion; cook until turkey is browned. Drain excess fat.
Add the carrot, bell pepper, tomatoes, jalapeno, beans, chicken broth, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes.
Serve with hot baked cornbread or biscuits and a tossed salad.
