Easy Barbecued Beef

  • 1 beef roast, a pot roast 3 to 5 pounds
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • dash cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 bottle or jar barbecue sauce, about 16 to 18 ounces







Place the roast into the crock pot and add the salt and pepper and cayenne pepper. Pour the barbecue sauce over the beef, covering completely. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 11 hours. Cook the sauce down on the stovetop to reduce and thicken or use a mixture of a a tablespoon or two of flour mixed with a small amount of cold water to thicken the sauce.
